Premium Binders and Transition Package

Personalised binders designed for one individual. The Sensory Binder, Emotion Binder and Communication Passport are available separately and also together as the Big Three bundle. All products in this section are self-printable PDF materials: no physical binder is delivered. Communication symbols are not included unless specifically stated in the product description. The prices are final. No additional charges at checkout.

The Good Life Binder

A good life is taken as seriously as the difficulties. It is not a reward for good behaviour.

Almost all material on profound autism deals with problems. This binder asks a different question: what makes this particular person happy, and how is that protected systematically. The binder is built for one person, and it ends with a page for handing it on when the adult or the placement changes. Nothing in it is a test or an assessment.

Includes:

1. Human dignity and a good life
Why a good life deserves to be taken as seriously as challenges. The M.I.K.S.I.® model and arousal states as tools for building a supportive everyday life.

2. Tools for noticing and understanding
How to learn what is good for this person: humour, attachment, interests, sensory joys, and moments of connection.

3. Choice and influence
Tools for recognizing a person’s own will and opportunities to influence their life, even without spoken communication.

4. Building a good day
How to create everyday life around small, repeated experiences that increase wellbeing and meaningful moments.

5. Laminated cards and boards
Ready-made everyday support tools that can be used at home, in day activities, or in supported living environments.

Also included:
A tool for transferring important information, so the knowledge about the person does not disappear when adults or environments change.

Who it is for: For a parent, support worker, teacher or nurse who wants to build a life of dignity, not only manage difficulty.

Communication Passport

Everything important about me, in one place. Written in the first person.

The passport is meant to be read before a new person meets the individual: a stand-in worker, a new employee, a paramedic, a dentist. In the first person it explains how I communicate, what calms and what overloads me, what my arousal states look like in each colour, and what to do in a crisis and in what order. Twelve pages replace half an hour of explaining. The passport makes sure information passes unbroken between the family and professionals.

Includes:

  • My basic details and the most important thing to know about me

  • How I communicate: yes, no, pain, need

  • My arousal states in four colours and what each looks like in me

  • What calms me and what overloads me; my senses in brief

  • My daily rhythm, eating and hygiene, safe foods

  • What I dislike and what I love; health and medication

  • In a crisis: quick guide in order

Who it is for: For stand-in staff, new employees and healthcare. Goes with the person whenever new people are involved.

Note. This product contains printable base material and instructions, not a finished physical binder or a pre-filled passport. You complete it with the person’s own information, pictures and needs.

Lainattu Rauha® Emotion Binder

Two pages for each emotion: how it feels in the body, and what you are allowed to do about it.

The Emotion Binder does not teach emotion words; it makes emotion bodily and actionable. On the first page you colour a body map and record when the feeling comes; on the second you agree safe responses: what is not allowed and what is. The binder is built together with the person, the allowed actions are practised in advance during calm moments, and no punishment is involved. It suits both everyday conversations and going through a situation afterwards.

Includes:

  • How to build the binder, five steps

  • Six ready-made emotions: angry, happy, sad, frightened, anxious, confused

  • For each emotion: body map and recognising the feeling

  • For each emotion: safe responses, NOT ALLOWED / ALLOWED

  • Two blank emotion pairs for your own

Who it is for: For when feelings come out as actions and safe, agreed alternatives are needed.

Note. This product contains the printable base material and instructions for assembling the emotion binder. You complete it yourself with your own pictures and information. No finished physical binder is shipped.

€32

Lainattu Rauha® Sensory Binder

Eight senses, each as over- and under-responsiveness. The aim: they learn to ask for what they need.

The Sensory Binder is a daily tool, not a one-off assessment. Each of the eight senses has its own pages for over- and under-responsiveness, plus cut-out activity cards to attach with hook-and-loop tape. Each day you choose the day’s activities onto the first–then board. The activities must be ones the person enjoys; nothing is done by force. The binder helps you recognise sensory-driven distress and offer replacement sensory activities that settle the situation.

Includes:

  • How to build the binder, six steps

  • Eight senses: balance, movement and position, hearing, smell, taste, touch, vision, interoception

  • Pages for each sense, over- and under-responsiveness separately

  • First–then boards, including a portable version

  • Activity cards by sense, cut out and laminate

  • Personalised plan page, references, notes

Who it is for: For home, school and care units, when sensory support needs to be part of every day.

Note. This product contains the printable base material and instructions for assembling the sensory binder. Of the three binders, only this one includes ready-made example pictures, though we recommend using the person’s own familiar pictures. No finished physical binder is shipped.

The big three bundle

A starter set for everyday structure: Sensory Binder, Emotion Binder and Communication Passport together. Bought separately, €92.

Do you want to build a predictable, safe daily life in which everyone is understood? The big three is a carefully assembled PDF set for profoundly autistic people and those close to them. The three binders complete each other: the Sensory Binder handles daily sensory support, the Emotion Binder gives feelings a bodily and safe form, and the Communication Passport gathers the essentials for anyone new. Together they make one person’s complete support folder. You receive three separate PDF files.

Includes:

  • 1. Sensory Binder, 31 pages: identify over- and under-responsiveness across all eight senses

  • Individual activity cards and clear instructions for supporting sensory regulation

  • Prevents overload: the right sensory tools at the right time, first–then boards for daily life

  • 2. Emotion Binder, 18 pages: visualise how emotions feel in the body

  • Clearly separates ALLOWED and NOT ALLOWED actions for each emotional state

  • A safe way to practise emotional regulation during calm moments

  • 3. Communication Passport, 12 pages: health, medication, special interests and fears in one place

  • Crisis quick guide in six steps: pause, make safe, minimise, sense, wait, reconnect

  • Keeps information unbroken between home, school and the care unit

Why choose the big three?

  • Saves time: ready-made, pedagogically considered templates. You print and personalise, nothing more.

  • One consistent look: every material follows the same clear, calming visual style.

  • Support across the board: the set covers the senses, emotions and communication, everything a good day is built from.

Who it is for: For families and units building one person’s complete support folder.

Note. The set contains only printable base material and instructions, not a finished physical binder. You receive PDF materials that you print yourself, laminate if you wish, and assemble into your own binder following the instructions. The products can be personalised with your own pictures, but only the Sensory Binder includes ready-made example pictures.

Made to order: if you would like a finished binder, assembled and personalised by me, get in touch for a quote. The binder is built to the client’s needs using licensed images from Canva or my own illustrations.

Social narratives

Printable templates that allow you to add your own pictures. Includes a main pdf book and ten themed expansion packs, each available separately. The prices are final. No additional charges at checkout.

Social Narratives Book

68 narratives from nursery to adulthood, in plain language with large pictures.

Each narrative fits on one page and moves through four numbered steps: a picture space and one plain-language sentence in each. The book is a template: you print the pages yourself and add your own symbols or photographs. The narratives span the whole life course from basic skills to puberty, adulthood and rights, and the difficult subjects have not been avoided: there are narratives for hitting, biting and running away.

Includes:

  • Everyday basic skills, 8 narratives · Eating, 4

  • Social situations, 7 · Emotions, 7

  • Body and boundaries, 4 · Transitions and changes, 5

  • Society and errands, 7 · Challenging situations, 6

  • Puberty, 7 · Festivals and celebrations, 6

  • Adulthood and rights, 4 · Safety, 3

Who it is for: For home, school and care units. One book lasts years, because the narratives change as the person grows.

€24

Theme packs

A theme pack is the same idea as the big book, but on one subject and in more depth. Each narrative fits on one page and moves through four numbered steps, each with a picture space and one plain-language sentence. The packs are templates: you print the pages yourself and add your own symbols or photographs, so the narratives look like this particular person's life.

Choose a pack when one subject is what is happening right now, and you need more narratives on it than the big book has.

Ten packs, €8 each:

  1. Emotions & regulation, 12 narratives

  2. Body, boundaries & safety, 10 narratives

  3. Puberty & body changes, 12 narratives

  4. Transitions & changes, 15 narratives

  5. Challenging situations, 12 narratives

  6. Daily living skills, 10 narratives

  7. Community & social situations, 10 narratives

  8. Outings & errands, 10 narratives

  9. School, day & work activities, 10 narratives

  10. Sleep, rest & recovery, 10 narratives

Note. The packs contain 111 narratives in total. Some of the situations are also covered in the big book, but no narrative  is the same: in a theme pack they are written as their own, more detailed versions. Most of the narratives in a pack are not in the book at all. The packs are printable PDF files, and you add the pictures yourself.

Printable Sets

Fillable form and tracking toolkits, 10–18 pages. Each set is designed for a specific everyday situation. The prices are final. No additional charges at checkout.

Tolerance bucket set

Do not wait for the overflow. Act when you see yellow or blue. In red it is already too late.

This set makes load visible and trackable. The bucket poster explains why a small thing brings down a big day, and the forms take it into practice: what fills the bucket, how to spot the early signs, and which strategies empty it. The adult fills it in by observing, not by interviewing.

Includes:

  • Tolerance bucket poster

  • Mapping the sources of load

  • Early warning signs pocket card

  • Daily load meter, 7-day tracking

  • Menu of ways to empty the bucket

  • Recovery plan after an overflow

  • Weekly reflection for the adult

  • Crisis pocket card

Who it is for: For families at home and professionals at work, including stand-in and new staff.

€12

Sensory journal set

Seven days, eight senses. A week of tracking reveals a pattern that memory would lose.

Sensory difficulties are not momentary, but they are quickly forgotten. This set gathers a week of adult observations across all eight sensory areas, and the result guides changes to the environment over a longer period. It includes a covering note for a partner professional, in case the tracking was requested by, for example, occupational therapy.

Includes:

  • Eight senses: sensitivity and seeking

  • Sensory profile, baseline mapping

  • 7-day sensory journal, main table

  • Sensory challenge cards, 8 areas

  • Interventions and environment: what worked and what did not, home, unit, transport

  • Action plan after the week

  • Covering note for a partner professional

Who it is for: When a new person starts in a unit, or when a therapist asks for home tracking.

12

After the situation set

This set does not teach prevention. It tells you what to do once the overflow has happened.

After a meltdown or shutdown, recovery is the nervous system’s work and the adult cannot speed it up. The set gives a timed structure: what to do within the first hour, what during the same day, and what over the following days. Aftercare is not a teaching moment; it is sharing calm.

Includes:

  • Recovery timeline poster

  • Adult checklist, 0–60 minutes

  • Body scan with the person

  • "What happened?" picture workbook

  • Adult reflection afterwards

  • Changing the environment and reporting

  • Restoring connection, T+30 min → T+2 weeks

Who it is for: For home, school, day care and care units.

12

School start set

What the adult already knows should not have to be guessed. Share this set with the teacher before the start.

A starter pack for a special class, small group or mainstream classroom. The set is scheduled: two to four weeks before, you fill in the introduction passport and the sensory letter; a week before, you go through the school map and the first-day timetable; and for the first two weeks you track with the weekly mood meter. The parent or previous school fills it in together with the new school.

Includes:

  • "This is me" introduction passport

  • Sensory letter to the teacher

  • Early warning signs, calming strategies

  • Visual school map

  • First-day timetable, fill-in

  • Retreat space agreement

  • Weekly mood meter, 2 weeks

  • Home–school collaboration, crisis pocket card

Who it is for: For the parent, the previous school and the receiving teacher.

12

Healthcare visit set

A healthcare visit can be the single biggest load of the month. It works when it has been prepared.

The set runs in three phases: before, during and after the visit. Beforehand you complete the checklist and the introduction passport for clinical staff; during the visit you use the immediate support strategies and the cut-out communication cards for the nurse; afterwards you record recovery and observations for next time.

Includes:

  • Before the visit checklist

  • Visual map of the visit

  • Introduction passport for clinical staff

  • Sensory notes for the visit

  • Immediate support strategies during the visit

  • Communication cards for the nurse, cut-out

  • After the visit: recovery and observations

Who it is for: For parents, escorts, support workers and clinical staff.

Puberty set

The stage people are least prepared for, and for which least support exists.

A practical tracking tool: what to record, when to be concerned, and how to prepare both the young person and yourself. It includes two weeks of sleep tracking, a menstruation tracking tool and a visual routine for managing periods, things that are rarely available ready-made. The set does not replace medical assessment, but gives concrete material for the conversation.

Includes:

  • Changes in puberty, the whole picture

  • Checklist for parents

  • The tolerance bucket in puberty

  • Sleep tracking form, 2 weeks

  • Changes in sensory regulation

  • Menstruation tracking tool

  • Managing periods, visual routine

  • Sexuality, boundaries and privacy

  • Social narrative: "My body is changing"

Who it is for: For a guardian when the physical signs are coming or have just begun; also for support workers and teachers.

15

Self-care set for parents and staff

You cannot draw water from an empty well. Your own capacity is their safety.

The set makes the helper’s own load visible and teaches you to recognise the early signs of burnout before they become a collapse. It includes a tolerance bucket for yourself, a map of what restores you, a section on grief and vicarious trauma, and an emergency card for the moment you are at your limit. It does not replace therapy or supervision; it runs alongside them.

Includes:

  • Checklist for your own baseline

  • Warning signs of burnout

  • The tolerance bucket for yourself

  • Map of what restores you

  • Grief work and vicarious trauma

  • Map of support: where to get help

  • Boundaries and permissions for myself

  • Monthly reflection

  • Emergency card: when you are at your limit

Who it is for: For parents, relatives, siblings, care staff, support workers and managers.

15

Health check forms

A change in behaviour in a non-speaking person must always be taken seriously. Autism is not an explanation for symptoms.

Four forms for a comprehensive or annual health check, for when the person cannot describe how they feel. The forms are based on behavioural observation, the knowledge of someone close, and comparison against baseline, and are separated for children and adults and for family and clinician. They can be filled in partially.

Includes:

  • Form 1: pre-visit information, children and young people

  • Form 2: clinician form, children and young people

  • Form 3: pre-visit information, adults

  • Form 4: clinician form, adults

  • Baseline examples

  • Instructions for using the forms

Who it is for: For guardians, care staff, nurses and doctors carrying out a comprehensive check.

€5

Small Printable Tools

Five themed packages and a complete collection. Each PDF includes a cover page, table of contents and practical instructions for use.  The prices are final. No additional charges at checkout.

Arousal and load

Making the language of load visible: the bucket, the four colours and a meter.

Load does not show on the outside until it is already too much. This pack gives three ways to make it visible: the tolerance bucket explains why a small thing brings down a big day, the four-colour model shows which arousal state you are in, and the thermometer gives the person a way to show it themselves.

Includes:

  • Tolerance bucket poster

  • Arousal states: four colours

  • Emotion thermometer

Who it is for: For families and teams who want a shared language for load.

€8

Communication

A way to tell without speech, and a way for the adult to answer the same way every time.

A non-speaking person communicates constantly. The question is whether the people around them have tools that let the message travel in both directions. This pack contains communication cards, colourful picture templates, pocket cards to carry, and a How to meet me quick card for someone new.

Includes:

  • Communication cards

  • Colourful picture templates and cards

  • How to meet me quick card

  • Pocket cards

  • W.H.I.C.H. reminder card

Who it is for: For families, stand-in staff and new employees meeting the person for the first time.

€12

Observation and health

Templates for working out what is really behind a situation.

When situations repeat, memory is not enough. These templates make you record what happened beforehand, and a recurring pattern starts to appear. The pack also includes sensory profile mapping, the difference between a meltdown and a tantrum, and a support table for everyday care procedures.

Includes:

  • Situation analysis template

  • Sensory profile mapping

  • Meltdown vs. tantrum

  • Care routines support table

Who it is for: For professionals and parents preparing for a meeting or a medical appointment.

€7

Senses and Hands-On Activities

Sensory support and emotional learning become concrete through hands-on activities.

Not everything needs to be explained in words. Sensory cards help show what feels good and what does not, while the cut-out cube templates offer a concrete way to explore, turn and choose. Hands-on learning can be more effective than verbal explanation.

Includes:

  • Sensory cards

  • Cube templates: emotion and sensory cubes

Who it is for: Homes and groups looking for practical, hands-on tools.

€10

Structure and transitions

Predictability is safety. The day, the evening and the transitions in a readable form.

Most difficult moments arise in transitions and surprises. This is the largest of these packs: a daily path with its own page for every day of the week, an evening and sleep routine template, first–then picture templates and a starter pack of transition, support and choice cards.

Includes:

  • Daily path, Mon–Sun, one page per day

  • Sleep and evening routine

  • First–then picture templates

  • Starter pack: transitions, support cards, choices

Who it is for: For home, school and supported housing, when the day needs to become visible.

€14

All small printables

Five packs in one package. Bought separately, €51.

The whole toolkit at once: arousal and load, observation and health, daily structure and transitions, communication, and senses and hands-on. One file with a contents list and page numbers, so you find the page you need quickly.

Includes:

  • Arousal and load

  • Observation and health

  • Structure and transitions

Help right now

Four pages for the moment when everyday life is caving in.

When the situation is already happening, there is no time to read a guide. This pack is built to be worked through from the top down: pain and illness are ruled out first, then you find a way to calm, then you learn to recognise the signs earlier. The safety plan comes last and is filled in before it is needed.

Includes:

  • Somatic checklist: is this pain

  • Calming strategies

  • Early warning signs

  • Safety plan

Who it is for: For a parent, a family member or a support worker who needs something in hand today.

Reading the situation

Behaviour is a message about the nervous system. These pages teach you to read it instead of guessing.

The same behaviour can mean two completely different things depending on the nervous-system state behind it. This pack gives you four colours for identifying that state, and cards for getting from the surface behaviour to the cause. It also covers what non-speaking means and what it does not mean.

Includes:

  • Quick arousal-state checklist

  • Behaviour is communication: detective card

  • Non-speaking does not mean not communicating

  • 10 things to remember

Who it is for: For everyone around a profoundly autistic person who wants to understand what is actually happening.

Healthcare and the Environment

Medical appointments cannot always be avoided, regardless of financial circumstances. And much of sensory overload can be reduced at no cost.

Appointments rarely fail because the person is not trying. They fail because of the waiting room, lighting, sounds and unexpected changes. This resource offers five practical ways to reduce sensory load before the visit, along with a checklist for reviewing the environment before responding to the person.

Includes:

  • Five ways to reduce sensory load before an appointment

  • Environmental checklist

Who it is for: Before a medical, dental or laboratory appointment, and for reviewing everyday environments at home or in a care setting.

Weekly schedule

The whole week at a glance, on one printable page.

A landscape weekly template where every day has its own colour and its own column. Fill it in with a pen or attach pictures. A predictable week reduces load before anything has even happened.

Includes:

  • Weekly schedule, A4 landscape

Who it is for: For the fridge door at home, for school and for a care unit.
