Lainattu Rauha® provides training, materials, and practical tools for professionals and families supporting people with profound autism. Our products are informational resources and support tools, not healthcare services. For individual care, rehabilitation, or diagnosis, please contact a qualified healthcare professional.

Why specifically profound autism?
Lainattu Rauha® materials are designed specifically for the everyday lives of children, young people and adults with profound autism. They address communication, sensory regulation, states of arousal, overload and support needs in ways that general autism resources often do not.
We use the term profound autism to make visible people whose support needs are extensive and ongoing. The term does not define a person’s value or whole identity; it describes the scale and nature of the support they may need.
There are still too few practical and respectful tools that genuinely reflect the everyday realities of people with the highest support needs. General resources are often too superficial, too dependent on language or too far removed from real-life situations.
A profoundly autistic person is not “challenging” , they are often overwhelmed.
When we understand the nervous system, sensory overload and the underlying biological factors, the way we respond begins to change.
VALUES AND RESPONSIBILITY

Practical, everyday support

Responsibility for people and the environment
Responsibility
Responsibility means considering both people and the environment. Lainattu Rauha® operates digitally whenever it is practical, favours long-lasting materials and aims to make choices that reduce unnecessary burden.
Most of the work is carried out from a home-based workspace, where solar panels provide part of the electricity we use and support more sustainable everyday choices. Our long-term goal is to increase energy self-sufficiency whenever possible.
We use artificial intelligence as one tool in the development of our materials, for example to support ideation, text review and refinement, as well as layout and visual development. The original content, structure, and visual design of the materials are based on human expertise and creative work. AI is used to support the process and assist with refinement, but the evaluation of content, pedagogical decisions, and final decisions always remain the responsibility of a human.
The content, structure and visual identity of Lainattu Rauha® materials are based on professional expertise, lived experience and careful design.

Who am I ?

I am Satu, a psychiatric nurse, neuropsychiatric coach, and the founder of Lainattu Rauha® Oy - Borrowed Peace Ltd
I have worked in healthcare since 2002 in a variety of settings, including psychiatric specialist care, services supporting people with high support needs, and child protection. Through my work, I have seen many situations where behaviour may appear challenging from the outside, while underneath there is often a message, an unmet need, or a state of overload.
Alongside my professional experience, my own life with a family member with profound autism and high support needs has taught me things that cannot be learned from books alone. Everyday life has shown me how much small changes in the environment, the right timing, and understanding a person’s individual way of communicating can matter.
Lainattu Rauha® was created from the need to combine research knowledge, professional expertise, and a genuine understanding of everyday life. My goal is to provide practical tools for families and professionals who want to build more understanding, reduce unnecessary overload, and create safer ways of supporting people with profound autism.
