Safety and crisis guide
49 situations across ten main themes, each worked through in the same six steps.
The guide is built so that you can find the right page fast in a difficult moment. Each of the 49 situations follows an identical structure: what this can look like, what it may be communicating, what to do immediately, what to check using W.H.I.C.H. thinking, how to prevent it, and when to see a doctor or seek urgent care.
The guide rests on one rule: a sudden change in behaviour always calls for a physical investigation first. Pain, illness, constipation, an ear infection or dental problems can all show up as changed behaviour when the person cannot describe the symptom in words. The guide does not start from blame but from understanding: the behaviour is usually not intentional.
Each situation states when to contact emergency services, and the cover has space for the emergency and poison information numbers of your own country.
